Here's the GFDA Top 12 for this week, celebrating great things happening to move Great Falls Forward.

1) The Great Falls Clinic officially opened its new hospital and emergency room.

2) Two announcements kicked off the new year. Town Pump plans to raze the Townhouse Inn and replace it with a new gas station complex at the site and a new hotel at a yet to be determined site. Buttrey Realty plans to redevelop another 10th Avenue South property to create a new casino. Expect more announcements to be made soon.

3) Worked with and discussed opportunities with several existing-area primary sector businesses as well as out-of-area commercial businesses looking at potential expansion projects. Scheduled a second in-town visit with a prospect looking at Great Falls. Worked with an out of town commercial developer on a proposed Great Falls project. Started work on several new leads and clients.

4) Closed a $356,000 loan to Pacific Steel & Recycling for the Great Falls AgriTech Park.

5) Forbes named Great Falls as one of the 25 best places to retire, along with Boise, Casper and Logan.
