Top Eleven 3/2/15

Here's the GFDA Top 11 for this week, celebrating great things happening to move Great Falls Forward.

1) Signed an agreement to sell lots 3 and 4, totaling 23.5 acres, in the Great Falls AgriTech Park to Helena Chemical Company, a leading internationally-owned agricultural supplier. The company plans to build 50,500 square feet of space and create 14 jobs in its first development phase starting construction this year, and add 30,000 more square feet in a second phase. The City Zoning Commission approved a conditional use permit for the project. Helena Chemical, headquartered in Collierville, Tennessee, is owned by Marubeni which also owns Columbia Grain. Half of the lots in the AgriTech Park and 58% of the acreage are now sold or under agreement to companies that plan to start construction this year. One more rail-served 20.5 acre lot can be made ready for construction start this year. Contact Brett Doney at BDoney@GFdevelopment.org
2) The City Planning Advisory Board and Zoning Commission unanimously approved a minor subdivision and conditional use permit for the East End Retail Center, a 26.2 acre retail development that will anchor the east end of 10th Avenue South and create a new gateway into Great Falls. The development will include a 189,000 square foot anchor retailer, fuel station and 4 parcels for additional businesses.
